Review of the 2nd China International Hosiery Purc

The 2nd China International Hosiery Purchasing Expo was concluded successfully in Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center on March 4th, 2006. With the great effort of China Tongyuan Corp, Shanghai Underwear Industry Association and other associations as well as all the staff of Shanghai Gehua Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., the exhibition has achieved its expected goals and earned wide recognition among the exhibitors and visitors home and abroad!

I. Introduction of the Exhibition

The China Hosiery Purchasing Expo 2007 is approved by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and undertaken by Shanghai Gehua Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. During the exhibition period, the exhibition gained great support from alibaba.com, SENKEN-SHIMBUN Co., ltd, ApparelSearch.com, ASAP show, Shanghai underwear association, Haining city sock industry association, Zhuji city sock industry association, Yiwu city industry association, etc., who made the 2nd CHPE conclude successfully. This fair included 156 companies from 15 countries and areas. This fair display area is more than 6,000 square meters, standard booth more than 300. The exhibition had 9267 specialized audience from 23 countries in 3 days, with the domestic audience mainly from Yangtze River Delta, Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as overseas audience from Britain, France, German, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Hungary, Turkey, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Lebanon, Pakistan and India, the number of the latter one surpassed the former one at the first time, which has reached 58%

Thanks to the continuous efforts and innovation of the Gehua team, CHPE become more and more international. Exhibitors upgraded the company image, get more deal than before. Total deal USD 46,29 million, with the export rate over 65%.

II. Review of the Exhibitors:

CHPE is not only a communication platform for the hosiery industry, but also an arena for trading companies and manufacturers. Various products show their unique features, like all flowers blossom. With the statistics from the Gehua Organizer Committee, we have the following conclusion:

Firstly, enhance the awareness of the product brand in an all-round way. Branding conception has become a major management idea of the stock manufacturers, many special booths has become the spotlight of this exhibition, such as MENGNA, BONAS, ORIENT BEFIT, ASIA SOCKS, TOYOTHAI INTERNATIONAL… The exhibitors from home and abroad used their own method to have the exhibition hall decorated like a world of stock, but also a world of innovative buildings. The efforts that the exhibitors made in their booths convey the exhibitor’s idea of brand promotion. Especially ZheJiang Orient Befit Socks Manufacturer CO., LTD., their specially designed booth aroused the attention of many potential clients who came in to have a business discussion with them. As a professional stock manufacturer, Orient Befit participated the East China Fair last year, where they was asked why they haven't participated CHPE. Mr. Zhang Jianjiang, President of Orient Befit made this decision promptly to order a 54 m booth in CHPE 2007. At the closing of the first exhibition day, Mr. Zhang was pleased to tell the Organizer, they had 76 purchasers who come to their booth, in which 6-10 may place orders. Many exhibitors expressed the same feelings besides Orient Befit, General Manager Chen from Jingjiang Eknit Co., Ltd. whose company had a standard booth in this exhibition has told the Organizer Committee they would change to a special booth in 2008.

Secondly, enhance the specialized management level. Specialization has become the major method to develop the overseas business of the companies in stock industries. The companies such as MENGNA, ASIA SOCKS, BONAS, Orient Befit, YONGXIN GROUP, TOYOTHAI, BEIJING SUKENO, EIKO TEXTILE, HONGFENG, BAIFANG KNITTING, NANFENG TEX, have get connected with many international buyers and explore new market because of their foreign-language-speaking employees and quick and effective display of their product features. Take BEIJING SUKENO as an example, led by their Manager of the Trade Dept., Ms. Jin Hua, and supported by Japanese and English speaking employees, they have gained the export order of 10 million dozen stocks.

  Thirdly, seize the opportunities to deal on the spot. Every exhibition booth has its advantages and disadvantages in each session, some companies whose booth was not in a good position such as HAINING BAIFANG, ECLOGUE SOCKS, HAINING HONGFENG, had their General Manager as the team leader, was followed by their major sales representatives, and prepared with abundant newly-designed catalogs, they have deeply discussions with the clients who visited their booths, and finally achieved 5 million dozen orders in all. Mr. Wang Jun, the Deputy General Manager of MENGNA said, they have overseas buyers from the US, Germany and Pakistan, etc. who come to discuss business with them one hour before the closing of the exhibition. Due to the time limit, after the brief discussion on the exhibition, the overseas buyers will pay a visit to their headquarters in Yiwu and sign the contract. Before the publishment of this article, MENGNA has gained 6 orders in great amount and 4 on negotiation. Mr. Wang Feihu, Manager of ECLOGUE SOCKS said , as an exhibitor, we should be active and discuss with the buyers, in order to achieve the purpose to participate the exhibition and fulfill the task of the enterprise.

III. Features of the Exhibition

1. Unique international stock exhibition of the world. No matter in China or other place of the world, there is no a second international trade platform for the stock manufacturers and buyers to do face-to-face business, let alone such scale, influence and power as CHPE. In China, who enjoys the biggest output of its stock products in the world, CHPE will definitely grow up and meet costume exhibition as an equal.

2. Active participation of the buyers. Under the global background of the quota limit policy from the European countries and America of the textile, especially stock industries in China, the number of the buyers from the European countries and America is still increasing. With the exercise of the 1st CHPE and the great promotion effort, the “Cold Policy” cannot stop the rising of the “Hot economy”. Especially, several American Buyers and a German Buyer came to the Organizer Committee on the second day after the closing of the exhibition, and explained they couldn’t arrive on time due to the visa problems, and asked for the information about the exhibition. The Organizer Committee gave them the Exhibition Catalog as a gift and introduce some exhibitors who may suit their business. And these foreigners go to Yiwu to locate their providers immediately after the lunch with the Organizer Committee staff that noon.

3. The exhibition has become the power to promote the industry development. This exhibition continues to encourage and support the exhibitor enterprises, spread the new conception of business culture, lead the development and interaction of the specialized market and stock industry, leading enterprises, brand products, which has formed a platform of business culture with the structure of Market-Industry-Enterprise-Product. It explains the new economy growth method, i.e. Market leads the Industry, extend the influence of the China stock industry and even China economy, tertiary industry leads secondary industry, and promote the quick, healthy and orderly development of the China stock industry.

4. Quality and technology of the products. Brand products and high-tech products attract more attention of the audience, new products are shown everywhere, many brands has been entitled with the China Famous Brand, Province Famous Brand and City Support Brand, who enjoys high fame and recognition in overseas market.

IV. Plan for the next exhibition:

Thanks to the great support of the government, industry association, media, cooperation units, etc., the CHPE has been conducted persistently and successfully! CHPE 2008 will be held on March 3rd (Monday) to March 5th (Wednesday) next year; the brilliant achievement of this year will set up a new goal for the 2008 CHPE, Branding and Internationalization will be the theme of 2008.
